This was the original Bradlees location. It opened in 1958 in the New London Shopping Center on S. Frontage Road (Known simply as Bridge Approach before and immediately after the construction of I-95). Notably, Sears and Kresge stores were also in the plaza, with Sears (Presently Staples) moving to the nearby Crystal Mall in Waterford in 1982 and Kresge's (Presently Harbor Freight Tools) closing in 1987 when Kmart spun off the brand and sold the New London store to McCrory's 5 and 10. This location closed back in 1982 and moved across the highway to the New London Mall.
