This site is still very much so in development. Most of our articles at this time are brief and only serve to highlight where exactly Bradlees locations could be found. Individual write-ups on each location will be coming shortly. In the meantime, check out our complete list of Bradlees locations, found in our Interactive Store Directory. Please feel free to leave comments and share any stories or memories you may have, as we'd love to hear from you!

New London, CT - N Frontage Road

New London, CT - 351 North Frontage Road

Opened: 1958
Bradlees on N. Frontage Road

Closed: 1982

Presently: ShopRite (Original Building Demolished)

This location opened in the New London Mall in 1982, after moving from the chain's original location just across I-95. Bradlees served as one of the mall's two anchors replacing Two Guys, with the other anchor being The Outlet Store, which was replaced by Marshalls in 1985.

Following Bradlees' closure, the New London Mall struggled to compete with the nearby Crystal Mall in Waterford, and most of the mall's original building was destroyed with the rest of the property being redeveloped into an open-air shopping center with Shop
Rite coming in as the plaza's main anchor.

New London, CT - 351 S. Frontage Road

New London, CT  - 351 S Frontage Road

Opened: 1958

Bradlees - New London, Conn.
Original Location Circa 1958
Closed: 1982

Presently Burlington Coat Factory

This was the original Bradlees location. It opened in 1958 in the New London Shopping Center on S. Frontage Road (Known simply as Bridge Approach before and immediately after the construction of I-95). Notably, Sears and Kresge stores were also in the plaza, with Sears (Presently Staples) moving to the nearby Crystal Mall in Waterford in 1982 and Kresge's (Presently Harbor Freight Tools) closing in 1987 when Kmart spun off the brand and sold the New London store to McCrory's 5 and 10. This location closed back in 1982 and moved across the highway to the New London Mall.
