New London, CT - 351 North Frontage Road
Closed: 1982
Presently: ShopRite (Original Building Demolished)
This location opened in the New London Mall in 1982, after moving from the chain's original location just across I-95. Bradlees served as one of the mall's two anchors replacing Two Guys, with the other anchor being The Outlet Store, which was replaced by Marshalls in 1985.
Following Bradlees' closure, the New London Mall struggled to compete with the nearby Crystal Mall in Waterford, and most of the mall's original building was destroyed with the rest of the property being redeveloped into an open-air shopping center with Shop
Rite coming in as the plaza's main anchor.
